Proof through place.
The first physical studies are planned for Japan in November 2026. They will test whether the same methodology can remain recognisable across opposite environmental conditions.
Controlled space.
Unstable response.
What happens when an apparently controlled interior is gradually destabilised through sound, image and physical presence?
Interior / controlled / artificial light / amplified sound
Architecture, audience position, acoustics, conditional score, Évian + Yuuki response
10–15 minute principal study
Venue and score in development
Found environment.
Minimal intervention.
How little intervention is required before an already charged environment begins to feel different?
Exterior / uncontrolled / natural light / environmental sound
Distance, passage, ambient sound, restraint, movement, observation
4–8 minute field study
Site Read and field route in development
Site Read
Pre-intervention film, ambient audio, photographs, route map and field notes.
Score
Spatial / performative conditions showing how place, sound, body and audience connect.
Performance film
A realised work rather than a promotional reconstruction.
Afterimage
Before/after documentation and separate reflections from Évian and Yuuki.
Curator reel
A concise 60–90 second visual summary backed by the full research record.
Study Book
A physical record of the question, score, stills, observations and next iteration.
Opposite conditions. Same method.
Osaka can test a constructed interior. Nara can test restraint within an existing outdoor environment. If both remain recognisably Sharkbeams without sharing the same aesthetic treatment, the methodology has begun to prove its portability.
The framework travels. The work does not.
